A section of residents of Roysambu constituency, Nairobi county have started a street clean up initiative aimed at restoring the beauty of the city estate.
The initiative supported by Roysambu constituency aspirant on a TSP ticket Brown Munyoroku brought together friends and neighbours drawn from Githurai 44, where they cleaned up sewers and trenches.
Speaking during the exercise, Munyoroku who is also The Service Party chairman said the initiative will extend to other parts of Roysambu constituency with a long-term goal of ensuring a clean environment for all.
‘’The natural environment we reside determines and affects our next future both directly and indirectly and it’s my wish that environmental engagements that conserves and protects nature are taken seriously by both National gorverment and local governments’’ Munyoroku Said.
Munyoroku further said that waste management in the city should be prioritised by the county government
‘’this discussion must not end there we must start seen waste as an opportunity to create employment and revenue among other benefits…i will put out and articulate my blue print on waste management here very soon’’ Munyoroku.
The initiative is expected to be conducted every Friday.
