The Service party leader Hon. Mwangi Kiunjuri has called on the government to come out and urgently address the escalating insecurity in Laikipia west constituency of Laikipia County.

Kiunjuri says the government conducted a discriminative disarmament exercise where some communities were left vulnerable to insecurity calling for the arming of homeguards in the areas affected for the community to take charge of their security.

Kinjuri says there have been cases of insecurity in Wangwaci , Kabati, Bondeni, Ol Moran and Mirango has been on the rise in the recent past and no effort has been made to enhance security in the area.

Kiunjuri sentiment comes as residents of the Ol Moran are said to be leaving their homes to look for safety in the Sipili area after one person was killed yesterday.

So far five schools have been closed and hundreds of residents displaced. He says they will hold a meeting of Laikipia leaders to chat about the way forward as far as security is concerned . He claims there are some leaders who are fanning the vice in the area.
